Interesting that donna khyuz' profile is now private on instagram. From model, to coder, to private in a few days.

I first learned about this fork today.. turns out the article was sponsored.
https://themerkle.com/segwit2x-to-be-reborn-in-coming-weeks-ahead/
How many of these articles mentioned by OP are sponsored?

github account is pretty young as well. Only one set of commits. Otherwise appears to be a copy of bitcoin core.
Where's the history? where's the backing? why are you moving so fast and promising so much?

I'll believe it when i see it!

You've been saying you'll release more information for over a week now but I've not seen anything that significant yet (none of the important questions seem to have been answered). With the fork only a couple of days away you should already have a good idea of the answers by now (you should have had the detail of this planned weeks ago).
All holders of Bitcoin BTC who store their funds on the wallets and services of our partners will receive Segwit2X [B2X] in the ratio 1 : 1
But that's not the question that was being asked.

In addition, we will distribute a proportional number of "Bitcoins of Satoshi Nakamoto" to all those who support hardfork!
By “Bitcoin of Satoshi Nakamoto” we mean what the founder and chief developer of Bitcoin BTC mined at the time of zero network activity. They will be credited to the crypto-exchanges and wallets of our partners gradually.

And that's the bit people keep asking about. With the fork due to happen very soon any credible developer would be able to provide details of how those coins are going to be distributed.

As a credible developer you can presumably also provide details for the the testnet that we can connect wallets to and confirm things are working.

So check this out.
These are their facebook pages:

Jaap Terlouw
https://www.facebook.com/kiev.jaap
Donna Khuyz
https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100011220692099

Her name is actually Ketrin, but who cares, right?
both are from Kiev Ukraine
Jaap looks like an ordinary fella. pretty ugly though, but you dont need good looks to run a multi-million cryptocurrency scam.

Donna on the other hand is more interesting. Turns out she runs a flowers shop. Wtf??!?!?

and just a year ago she used to sell tickets to the parties...

and now she is a segwit2 core developer. that's a pretty sudden career twist, innit?

she looks good in that bikini though:

she is basically a promo-model. she gets paid to advertise stuff. most likely someone's just paid her to put her face on the webpage

Arnold Schwarzenegger actor became governor of California, Donald Trump businessman became president, in russia pornstar candidate for presidential candidates. and you are surprised that a beautiful girl who has a business can be a business developer in a team. if you wanted to deceive they would have made a fake account with people you could not find on the Internet and learn about their private life and did not ask unnecessary questions, it would be logical.you think you are deceiving and want to earn some money for you? then explain how they do it? you are not forced to buy anything, you are offered to support a fork and receive a reward, do not want to not support and then you do not have anything to do here. you conspiracy talk about the fact that they all bought and exchanges and people to deceive you, but the logic should prompt if they spend so much and nothing from this in the end do not get then all their activities are unprofitable. Enough to come up with something that is not and prevent people from doing their work, they are also trying for the entire decentralized community and give us the right to choose. and you have repeatedly written that the team is international what difference do you make to what kind of race, nationality, faith, and where does the team live? how can this affect the outcome?

Ok.  So I'm brand new in the crypto world and have been studying it for a week.  I have a banking/finance background and have deep experience in evaluating management teams.

Some big "red flags" here:

1) This fork would be a massive change.  Every major exchange would have alot of "pain" resolving the fork and would have to prepare for the event.  The fact that the biggest exchanges are not talking about this, nor a lot of internet chatter is enough to discredit this.

2) Any management team of a fork this large would be well known and well publicized.  This marketing manager that no one knows and is new to the community is very, very concerning.  Sure, you can be pretty and smart but there is NOTHING about her experience.  If she's in marketing, she would be on here (and everywhere for that matter) to get their message out.  Doing a background search on the Szabo is equally concerning, although for other reasons.

3) This is minor but the website feels very suspicious.  From the URL to the partners.... there is very little to inspire confidence.  3 people on the steering committee?  No papers or research conclusions?  No discussion about support from miners?  The FAQ is 5 questions and barely not a single technical question.

Now.... my question to the community since I'm new... How does a scam like this benefit the people running it?  Create a fake altcoin, issue thousands (their free giveaway), and then hope the limited exchanges give it a pump for them to sell?  This really brings into question the validation process for their "partner" exchanges.

In November, they promised the fork well-known personalities, had a lot of support, answered questions, dealt with a PR company, there was a lot of everything, and as a result they got it? nothing. zero. canceled fork. so that all your arguments are based on nothing. Real experience shows those who are engaged in bla bla bla except bla bla bla nothing else you get. And this team is engaged in business

It is not really a 'scam' , it is just another bitcoin hardfork. If you keep bitcoin and there is a hardfork then you are going to get free coins out of thin air. You can sell those coins while keeping your bitcoin safe.

It is free money out of nothing if there is an exchanger that support them. In 2018 , you can expect that there are going to be alot more bitcoin hardfork. Nothing can stop them as everyone is free to do what they want

Dear members, your help is highly appreciated. Feel free to submit a support ticket to your favourite exchange and ask if they foresee the Segwit2x fork listing anytime soon.
The larger and more active is the community the faster exchange platforms should commit to a fork

Yes, you will get them by entering your private key into our wallet.

OK everyone,

FIRST OFF these are mostly PAID PRESS RELEASES authored by someone named "Tom Clancy". So don't legitimize this fork based on the above! Most have disclaimers like CCN that state "This is a paid-for submitted press release. CCN does not endorse, nor is responsible for any material included below and isn’t responsible for any damages or losses connected with any products or services mentioned in the press release. CCN urges readers to conduct their own research with due diligence into the company, product or service mentioned in the press release."

SECOND Never enter your Bitcoin Wallet Private Key without FIRST moving your Bitcoin to another address AFTER the Fork Happens. The fact the OP is telling you to just enter your Bitcoin Wallets Private Key without first moving your bitcoin seems extremely shady!

FINALLY I was excited about this fork initially, but after reading this thread thoroughly and seeing mostly newbie accounts glowingly defend the OP's remarks and deceitfulness? I don't have much faith in this Fork! Seems like an "alt-coin money grab" basically with the hopes of obtaining Bitcoin Private Wallet Keys in the process! SO BE VERY VERY CAREFUL!

About press releases - it's one of the promotions ways.
About private keys - you are absolutely right. Dear users, You can transfer your Bitcoins to another wallet preliminarily and then enter your private key in our wallet.
deceitfulness - what are you talking about? We are not liers.
