DEA forms a capital and business alliance with Media Do,parent company of MyAnimeList

DEAPcoins to be circulated on MyAnimeList, the world’s most active Japanese anime/manga online community

Digital Entertainment Asset Pte. Ltd. (DEA) is pleased to announce a capital and business alliance with Media Do, a Japanese digital content distribution and delivery company, to promote the global expansion of e-book content that utilizes blockchain technology. The aim of the alliance is to provide both companies with mutual gains in terms of content and users given that MyAnimeList, a Media Do group company, is known as the world’s most active Japanese anime/manga online community with 10 million users primarily in North America.

■Background and aim of the capital and business alliance

DEA, a blockchain entertainment platform company based in Singapore, is quickly moving to establish itself as a leading global company in blockchain entertainment. Already, DEA is known for taking leadership in the blockchain industry and its rich network. Concrete examples of DEA blockchain operations include the issuance of DEAPcoins, an original crypto asset that is listed on six major exchanges worldwide, and the operation of the PlayMining platform, which attracted more than 100,000 users in the first half year of its launch and continues to double in users. In addition, DEA co-sponsored the NFT Awards 2020, which Google, Microsoft and numerous other major companies participated in. DEA has also begun work on copyright protection initiatives using smart contracts.

Media Do is one of Japan’s most established and largest e-book agencies and has a powerful network of popular Japanese content copyright holders and creators. Its group company MyAnimeList is known as one of the world’s largest Japanese anime/manga communities.

With a common goal to globally expand Japanese content using blockchain technology, DEA and Media Do have decided to form a capital and business alliance to maximize the synergies of their respective know how and resources.

■Future plans

DEA and Media Do will implement the following initiatives using blockchain and other technologies to increase revenues.

・Expand the number of users by circulating DEAPcoin, an original crypto asset issued by DEA, on MyAnimeList, a Media Do group company and one of the world’s largest Japanese anime/manga communities.

・Using Media Do’s network, transform Japanese IP into blockchain games on DEA’s PlayMining platform for new global monetization opportunities.

・Create an e-book market that secures profit sharing among copyright holders utilizing NFT (non-fungible tokens).

・Jointly operate an e-book platform utilizing blockchain technology.

With the above and other initiatives, the number of users of DEAPcoins, an original crypto asset issued by DEA, is expected to increase dramatically, and the blockchain entertainment platform PlayMining is forecasted to have 2 million registered users by spring 2021
