How to prepare for the TRX and/or EOS swaps with Binance
Tron (TRX) and EOS are launching their Mainnets soon! You know what that means?
It’s time to move your TRX and EOS off of MyEtherWallet and into an exchange that supports the swaps, like Binance! (Some other exchanges will work too, but please confirm that they support the TRX and EOS swaps before assuming. Do your research, knowledge is power!)
Don’t want to miss out? Let’s outline how to send your TRX and EOS to an exchange.
Step 1: Set up an account at an exchange that will support the TRX and EOS swaps. As mentioned above, Binance is a great exchange that will support both!
After setting up an account, you will be directed to a page that looks like the one below.
Click the ‘Funds’ button in the top navigation bar, and go to ‘Deposits’.
Step 2. Now it’s time to find your TRX and EOS deposit addresses on this exchange. They will look like regular ethereum addresses. (42 characters, prefaced with ‘0x’). Search the bar shown below for TRX and/or EOS.
Step 3. You will see the deposit address after choosing your token. Click the ‘Copy Address’ button for accuracy.
Step 4. You’re done with Binance! Now go to our website and click the ‘Send Ether & Tokens’ tab. (Make sure you see the ‘MyEtherWallet Inc [US]’ in green next to the URL, so you know you’re on our real, secure site!)
Step 5. Access your wallet that holds the TRX or EOS tokens with whatever method you usually use, i.e. Hardware Wallet, MetaMask, Keystore/JSON..
Step 6. Check the ETH balance. ETH is necessary to send transactions, and we recommend having at least .01 ETH to cover around 2–3 token transfers. You’ll need some for these transfers!
Step 7. Load your TRX and/or EOS balances under ‘Show All Tokens’. Now input the value of TRX and/or EOS you’d like to send, and put your TRX and/or EOS deposit address from the exchange into the ‘To Address’ field. (Please only send a little at first, to make sure it goes through alright).
Step 8. Generate the transaction, and check your exchange for the balance to show up! (It shows up in the same area as where you received your deposit address).
Step 9. If it shows up fine, send the rest of your TRX and/or EOS to the same address.
Step 10. Party! You’re all ready and set for when the Mainnets launch. Pat yourself on the back and know that you won’t have to do anything once the swap time comes. Binance will handle everything for you!
