Be careful, it is a scam

Be careful, bitpay is a scam!
I bought €50 in Bitcoin, I only received €33 in bitcoin. And I can't even use them, because aren't even enough to pay the commissions for make 1€ payment.
I tried to send 1 euro to the wallet of my friend, and bitpay app says that there are not enough funds to carry out the operation.
They practically stole everything. Customer service says it is not their fault Thank goodness that I had tried with a small amount just to try.
Be careful, they are thieves. Real criminals.

Would give -5 stars if I could
I have $300 USDC I want to withdrawl. I need to tranfer this to my crypto exchage (per Bitpay). Bitpay say there is not enough ETH in the account for transfer fees. I try to change my USDC soin to ETH, same error. I can't use the wallet feature or withdraw anything direct because I am in Canada. This scam company has just stollen my money. Thanks

Couldn't use BitPay with MetaMask or TrustWallet

i have both MetaMask and TrustWallets but BitPay couldn't connect with MetaMask although it's listed as one of the compatible wallets. when i tried to scan the QR code with my mobile Metamask wallet, it says their QR code is invalid address. so i tried my TrustWallet which had sufficient DAI, one of their listed cryptos, but it connected with my wallet but said there were no funds. i've wasted about two hours trying to hack their obstacle course and have now given up.

A scam that can steal your crypto

This a scam company. Just sent a small amount of crypto I had to some business that accepts crypto. It was less than $10. They showed xxx amount needs to be transferred. On transfering the amount they tell you it is not enough and will say "Underpayment". They will tell you will get a refund. To get that refund you need to sign up and login to claim. But when you do that, they don't allow you to sign up without providing all your ID, photos, and other details. This is a scam operation to siphon off your data by pretending the transfer didn't work or you need a refund. Do not use it for any payment.

Biggest scam in crypto

I used the bitpay payment processor. My transaction get refused by you guys. Force me to create a account to refund, and dont verify my email adress when pressing the link, everytime i open de email link, the page tells me it send me a new verification email and it repeats this till infinity. Now the chat support bot ask for a invoice ID while you guys dont give a invoice ID so. so, 1. Fix your payment processor 2. Fix your website and email verification system 3. Stop asking outrages transaction fees that are double of the actual current bitcoin transaction cost. 4. Add invoice IDs to the page 5. Send me my damn money back 6. Stop being a thief and reconsider if your in the right business

BITPAY will steal your money dont use it ‬

don't lost any $ with them.I bought…

don't lost any $ with them.I bought USDC , I paid $40 after fee I got 36.23 in USDC crypto.I tried to send that USDC to someone's wallet but bitpay app indicated there is no enough balance in EHT (etherium ) wallet to cover transaction expense,I discovered I need to swap crypto from USDC wallet to EHT wallet.I attempted to swap but app said I need to swap at least 95.92 USDC so my USDC balance of 36.22 in wallet was not enough.I won't pour any more real single dollar to this shady app because there is no way you can see any notice anywhere in app about you have to have swap money from USDC wallet to ETH wallet and it should be at least amount of 95.22 so I can't use my balance of 36.22 USDC .no refund, nothing,I should put more money to this shady app to retrieve 36.22 in hope ,they are thieve

BitPay Merchant under review for ages + Zero response

I don't like to leave bad reviews but this company is begging for 1 star negative reviews.

I submitted my documents for BitPay merchant account back in May and was advised someone will get back to me.

I sent an email on 22 May 2023 and 20 June 2023 asking for an update but got no response on both attempts.

Just seen the numerous poor reviews and am glad my account is still under review as I don't care about it anymore.

Such a wasteful company that shouldn't be in business.

Non responsive customer support, a review period that feels like eternity. A GOLD recipe for disaster.

I wish I’d have read reviews before…

I wish I’d have read reviews before purchasing via Bitpay. First time was simple and successful. My recent transaction the total opposite. My transaction was confirmed by Ramp and Bitpay are no longer responding to emails. They had promised to do a review within 36 hours and kept asking for ID they had already had. When you tell them this they start ignoring your emails. It is so frustrating I have lost money I cannot afford to lose. DO NOT USE BITPAY.

Bitpay is simply the worst

Bitpay is simply the worst. I used them to receive small payments over the past several months and wondered why I never received a payout. Their response? You must accumulate at least .01 Bitcoin (around $420 in value at current rates) before they will release your funds. Until you achieve that balance level, they hold your money hostage.

There are MANY other crypto payment processors available who don't resort to this scam tactic. Don't waste your time with Bitpay.

Use only if ready to loose all your Cryptocurrency. Avoid at all cost!

First: Stay away from any company like BitPay that does not have a customer service phone line. They spend more energy hiding behind crafted emails rather than helping you solve any issue. They spend days crafting texts & lines to avoid your issue & cover their backs.

Second: Their customer service was so unhelpful & unsympathetic, responding with generic FAQ responses instead of actual help to the issue. After insisting, they bluntly told me I've basically lost my money.

It was very easy to download tha app, open an account and fund it. Story changes when you wish to use your money. I tried to send some crypto to pay for a service, and got stuck where I was being asked for an encrypted password. I used my account password which did not work. I was told that I needed a 12-word recovery phrase to find my encrypted password.

I trolled through my account email and couldn't find a single email from BitPay mentioning '12-word recovery phrase' or 'encrypted password'. Sent an email to their customer service, only to get generic FAQ responses for many days. After insisting and pushing back, I finally got told blatantly that if I can't remember my password, I would loose any money I have in the account.

Getting fed up, I asked to close the account and recover my fund. I got told they can close the account but I won't recover any fund I have in it.

Morale of my experience; there is absolutely no way to access your money if you forget your password or don't have the 12-word recovery phrase. In my case, my account password won't work and I don't recollect ever creating another 'encrypted password' or being given any 12-word recovery phrase. What's worse, there is no email in my inbox about either of these.

If perhaps there is a glitch where new passwords are needed, these guys will gladly tell you to forget about any fund in your account even if it's worth a million pound.

No doubt, someone at the top, is getting really fat off of all these.

Avoid BitPay at all cost for your peace of mind. I won't be surprised if it goes belly-up in the not too distant future.

BitPay is a scam. I have no doubt

I used BitPay as a payment method for a service used on my website, however they sent the money to another ETH wallet and not the ETH wallet I had set up. Result; I lost my money

After many emails exchanged where they always reply that they detected the problem and are analyzing it, today I receive an email informing that the ticket has been closed.

Stay away from this service.

Thieves!

When you underpay your transaction

When you underpay your transaction, for example due to exchange fees, Bitpay will offer only refund not another transaction to cover remaining amount. What's funny - refund fee was more than twice as large as fee from my exchange. So I paid 0.0005 BTC fee for 1st transaction, then for refund I paid 0.0011 BTC and another 0.0005 BTC for another transaction to fix my mistake. Instead it could be 2 x 0.005 BTC transactions.

They used to be good service...

They used to be good service for Bitcoin payments when merchants wanted accept bitcoin payments but not take Bitcoin to their posession. Now they are lagging behind technology and instead of upgrading, now they are putting costs on customers. They take some verry strange network fee (absurdly high), and not support SegWit. They take payments to adresses like 1K2F2SXb**** (legacy address format). They also reuse adresses (LOL).

This is the four the time that I …

Update: although with some delay but they provided full amount perfectly with higher Bitcoin rate.

This is the four the time that I receive “we will keep you informed shortly”. Please do the transfer as soon as possible as this waste of time and blockage of money is illegal. Unfortunately, Crypto account been limited due to sudden decisions of Wavecrest. Wavecrest is almost an illusion in Gibraltar. Some other legal parts make Bitpay directly responsible for compensation. I have to start a legal case against the company the BBB and other entities and asking other customers to join.
